Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Handbook of Your Life® website, products or services. By purchasing, accessing or using any part of our offering, you agree to these Terms.

These Terms operate alongside your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in these Terms excludes, limits or modifies your rights under the ACL.

1. Overview

Handbook of Your Life® is a printed Personal Affairs Management System, providing you the ability to organise your personal, household and end-of-life planning information in one place.

This is about clarity, not complexity — so the people around you are not left guessing when it matters most.

2. Nature of Products, Services & Resources

The Handbook of Your Life® Personal Affairs Management System is designed to help you collect and organise information in a structured format. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Handbook Kits
  • Security Manager
  • 2DocLock™ Security System product
  • Integrated Codes System™ (ICS) and ICS List
  • Customer resources, guides and training materials
  • Loved Ones Support
  • Optional customisation and personal assistance services

Our products, services and resources:

  • Do not provide legal, financial medical or professional advice
  • Do not replace the need for qualified professional advice
  • Do not create legally binding instructions or documents
  • Do not replace formal legal documents such as a Will, Power of Attorney or Advance Health Directive.

The Handbook of Your Life® Personal Affairs Management System is intended to support organisation and communication only.

If you require professional advice, you should seek it from a qualified professional.

3. How The System Works

The Handbook of Your Life® system is designed to organise information — not create it.

It works best when:

  • your information is accurate and kept up to date
  • your instructions are clear and complete
  • your nominated person knows where to find your handbook

4. Your Responsibilities

By using our products, you agree that you are responsible for:

  • entering accurate and complete information
  • updating your information over time
  • storing your handbook and Security Manager appropriately
  • ensuring your nominated person can access your materials
  • maintaining any required legal documents separately

We do not verify, store or manage your personal information.

5. 2DocLock™ Security System, Integrated Codes System (ICS) Protocol™ & Document Separation Protocol™

The 2DocLock™ Security System, including the Security Manager, Integrated Codes System (ICS) Protocol™ and Document Separation Protocol™, is designed to protect your confidential data through the use of user-created, custom codes and separation of sensitive information.

You are responsible for:

  • recording and maintaining your 2DocLock™-associated information correctly and accurately
  • storing your Security Manager securely and separately from your handbook
  • ensuring your access instructions are clear and usable for your nominated person

This system is designed to keep your information private and separated. Handbook of Your Life®  does not have access to your personal information, codes or documents. Because of this, we are not able to recover lost information or recreate missing details.

The security of your information also depends on how the system is used, stored and shared, as well as factors outside our control. Handbook of Your Life® is not responsible for any loss, misuse or unauthorised access to information resulting from how your 2DocLock™ security is set up, maintained or accessed.

If your nominated person requires help understanding how the 2DocLock™ system works, they are welcome to contact us via our Free Loved Ones Support page — we are always happy to guide them through how to use what has been provided.

This system is designed to protect your information — but it relies on correct setup and ongoing maintenance.

6. Our Commitment to You

We genuinely want this system to work for you.

Where possible, we will:

  • provide guidance on how to use your handbook
  • help you understand how the system works
  • provide resources to support completion
  • replace faulty or incorrectly printed pages

If something isn’t right with the product itself, we will work with you to resolve it.

At the same time, the handbook relies on the information you choose to include and maintain, so outcomes will naturally depend on how it has been completed and kept up to date.

7. Loved Ones Support

Loved Ones Support is a free service designed to assist a nominated person after death or loss of capacity.

We can help by:

  • explaining how the handbook, Security Manager and 2DocLock™ system work
  • guiding users on where to find information
  • helping them understand how to use what has been prepared

This service is guidance only.

We cannot:

  • provide legal, financial or medical advice
  • act on behalf of the estate, executor or family
  • access or recover missing information
  • guarantee outcomes

The support we can provide depends entirely on how the handbook has been completed and maintained.

20. Limitation of Liability

We’ve created Handbook of Your Life® to provide a practical system that supports organisation and clarity.
