No. Passwords, PINs, security answers and other sensitive access details should not be written directly in the handbook. 2DocLock™ uses coded references and a separate document called the Security Manager (and optional decoder file called the ICS List) so the handbook does not reveal the complete information.

The system separates sensitive information across more than one document. Each document contains only part of what is needed, so finding the handbook alone does not provide complete access to your passwords or accounts.

No. 2DocLock™ is completely offline. It does not require an app, cloud storage, third-party account or ongoing subscription.

The handbook should not contain your complete passwords or sensitive access details. When 2DocLock™ is used correctly, someone who finds only the handbook does not automatically receive the information needed to access your accounts.

2DocLock™ uses two security protocols that work together.

The Integrated Codes System Protocol controls how sensitive access information is recorded. The Essential Method keeps passwords out of the Handbook and stored in the separate Security Manager. The Enhanced Method built’s on the Essential Method by making use of the ICS List, creating an additional layer of protection.

The Document Separation Protocol requires the Handbook and Security Manager to be stored in separate locations. For maximum protection under the Enhanced Method, the Handbook, Security Manager and ICS List should each be stored separately.
