If you are having issues modifying your Handbook in MS Word (Downloadable Kit), we offer a number of solutions:
Our End-of-Life Planning Handbooks are absolutely not a Will or Will Kit. Our Handbooks do work in perfect harmony with your existing Will and your other legal documents however. Please view our “Beyond Your Will” page for more information.
Set aside a few hours initially to determine the information you can fill out immediately and information and documents you still need to get. Small amounts of time across a week should see the bulk of the handbook completed.
Yes. Your handbook can be expanded with additional information pages (provided) at anytime. You might also like to consider filling in your handbook with a pencil so that should providers and other information change, you can more easily remove previous details and enter in the new information.
Keep the handbook where a trusted person knows to access it. For best security utilise the Security Manager and store it in a separate location. Ensure to let the trusted person know its location also.
It’s a personal affairs document your loved one created before they died. It holds the information only they knew – the details that help you manage things in the days, weeks and months ahead.

The codes in the right-hand columns form part of the 2DocLock™ Security System. They are used to keep the more sensitive details private.
These codes are only relevant if the handbook owner chose to use the security system. If they did, you will also have been given (or told the location of) the extra security documents: the Security Manager and possibly the ICS List.

If the handbook owner used 2DocLock™, we’ve created a video that explains how it all works. To access the video, please complete the form on this page and we’ll send the private link.
This may be the first time you’ve seen the handbook. Or you may have gone through it with the owner some time ago and it’s all a bit fuzzy now. Either way, you’re not alone.
Use the “Request Access Here” form to receive our video guides. They walk you through the handbook and the security documents (if they apply). We’ll show you how to find what you need without having to guess.
Each handbook covers everything a person might need to document. If a section is blank, it usually means it wasn’t relevant to your loved one’s circumstances, so nothing needed to be written there.
Yes. You can share the page link and password with immediate family members who are helping with arrangements.
The videos are designed for the person nominated in the handbook or the person acting as executor, so please keep that in mind. Without the handbook and security documents, the videos won’t make much sense to others.
The email should arrive within a few minutes. If you don’t see it, check Junk or Spam.
Email providers can occasionally delay messages also. If it’s still missing after 15 minutes, please use the form again or reach out via our main contact page.
When the handbook owner purchased their handbook, we gifted them unlimited support for the person they nominated to use it in their absence. That support is now yours. It’s free and it lasts for as long as you need it.
No. We don’t provide legal or financial advice. Our role is to help you understand the handbook and the 2DocLock™ Security System.
If the handbook contains legal or financial details from the owner, we can help you find the relevant pages. For advice beyond that, you’ll need to speak with qualified professionals.
That’s more common than you think. Families aren’t one-size-fits-all. All Handbook of Your Life kits are modular, so you can add Child or Care Recipient Add-Ons where needed.
